Camping Trip
We took Jackson camping the first weekend in November. He had a blast! For a child that loves the outdoors as much as he does, camping was something that seemed natural to him. The weather was beautiful and perfect for camping. Jackson got to roast a marshmallow by the fire, ride a train, play at the playground, eat ice cream, and spend the night in a RV. We had a wonderful time. Our trip was cut short because as we were getting ready for bed Jackson got sick. Thankfully we were not very far from home so he and I got in the car and went home. We ended up at the doctor's office on that following Monday. I hope that we get to go back camping in the future. We had so much fun.

Jackson's First Field Trip
Jackson had is first field trip with his MDO class. They went to the pumpkin patch!! I took off work for the day to take him and we had a great time. He spent most of the morning just running around picking up leaves and rocks and watching the older kids play. He was also interested in trying to pet the black lab that was always attempting to hide from us. She was a sweet dog for letting Jackson get so close and pet her. Jackson and I went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch. Jackson wasn't at all interested in the pumpkins. He wanted to head straight into the woods so I redirected him several times towards the open field. We had a picnic lunch with all the other kids and their parents. After we finished at the pumpkin patch, we went by to visit with Aunt Glyn and Bo the Boston Terrier for a few minutes. We had a great day!!!

Where Does the Time Go?
We have been so busy with work and everything that I almost forgot about our blog. We have been having so much fun. Jackson loves the vacuum cleaner. Fear of that thing is something we don't have to worry about. I even tried sitting him down on it while it was running and pushing him through the house. He was hilarious. Now, when we go to the closet to get it out, he tries to sit on it or play with the piece that has the light on it. He also loves to play in my doll cabinet. His favorite thing to do is to take out one of the red nesting dolls and bring it into the living room. If we catch him trying to open the door to the cabinet we get on to him and tell him no, no. At that time he asks like he is so innocent and has no idea what we are talking about. We have also been to the doctor during the month of September because he had the croup. Thankfully it didn't get too serious and cause us to have to go to the hospital. At our visit, the doctor gave him a steroid shot after he heard all the "barking" that Jackson was doing. Jackson loves being outside so much we have ventured out to the park with him. Ray took him on the big boy slide a couple of times and he loved it. When we go to the park, he enjoys the freedom of running around and exploring. Jackson not only like the vacuum cleaner, he also loves the washing machine. I likes to close the drawer after I put the detergent in and he likes to close the door to the washer and dryer. When I get ready to do laundry, Jackson loves to come and help out. I even caught him in the laundry room alone taking clothes out of the hamper and putting them into the washer and then back to the hamper. It was so funny!

This Weekend and the Big Boy Bed
This weekend we enjoyed staying around the house watching football and playing outside. We also put together Jackson's big boy bed. His bed is part of the set of bunk beds my brother and I slept on when we were younger. Thanks to Nanny Toot for the mattress. He has slept great in the bed so far.
Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day weekend we traveled to Brevard, North Caroline with Nanny Toot and David. We went up to enjoy the beautiful mountains and to visit with Bro. David and Eloise. We had an awesome weekend. We visited some of the local waterfalls, had lunch at the top of one of the mountains, explored O.P. Taylor's toy store, relaxed and played at the house, visited with everyone - Bro. David, Eloise, David, Beth, Bennett, and Leah Grace, we went to church at Bro. David's church, and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery. A side note: on the day we were to leave, we were out packing the car and Jackson shut the back door to the house and of course it was locked. For a few minutes we all thought we were locked out and Jackson was locked in. Thankfully one of the sliding glass doors had not been locked so we were able to get back in the house. Jackson enjoyed the trip and had so much fun running through the house and playing outside.
When I Came Home from Work....
When I came home from work on Tuesday, August 30, I found my two boys napping. I could not resist taking a picture. While I was at work, Ray took the time to take down Jackson's crib so we could move on to the next stage. Jackson hasn't been sleeping in his crib since the beginning of summer. So, we decided to take it down and put it away.

Playtime
Just a few pictures of Jack enjoying a day with Nanny Toot. He loves books. At her house he goes over and moves the bar stool and the magazine basket out away from his "spot" where he sits to look at books. He has learned to put things back in his toy bucket or drawers or cabinets. It seems like he learns something new everyday! He is growing up so fast!

Mother's Day Out
Jackson's first day at mother's day out was today. He got to stay about 2 hours. Nanny Toot dropped him off this morning and sent some pictures to me at work. She said he went right in and started playing. She told me when she picked him up he was playing. He fell asleep in the car before she could get a couple of miles down the road. I guess that means he played hard this morning! Here are a few pictures from this morning.

Weekend Fun
This weekend we stayed around the house and tried to catch up on on the chores we missed out on during the week. Jackson enjoyed playing in his pool in the backyard, running around in the front yard, creating chaos in his upstairs and downstairs playrooms, going to church, and doing all the things that he enjoys. We discovered one new tooth in the back on the bottom and two teeth still trying so hard to come in on the top. Jackson is also having trouble sleeping in his crib. So, we have decided to let him sleep in our room on his little air mattress for a while to see if we can work out of this stage. On Saturday, he refused to take a nap so during dinner he fell asleep in his high chair. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard. When we got home from church on Sunday, we changed Jackson's clothes and he wore an old shirt of mine around the house all day. It was a t-shirt that my Uncle David gave me when I was Jackson's age and it has Uncle David's high school football number on it. It was kind of funny seeing Jackson wearing it. I am glad that my mom saved it for me to share with him.
