We went to Watersound Beach to visit Uncle David, Aunt Kathleen, and Sara for couple of days in July (17-20). We had so much fun. We went down to the beach everyday and we spent one evening at Seaside looking in all the shops and eating pizza. Jackson had so much fun. On the way home, we stopped and visited with Jackson's Great-Great Aunt Brunize. It was the first time he had gotten to see her. He enjoyed running through her house, laughing, and opening/closing her cabinet doors. We had an awesome visit with everyone.

Fourth of July Weekend
We spent the Fourth of July in Atmore. Jackson and I went to Gulf Shores to visit with Uncle Rex, Aunt Glyn, Jodie, Drew, Rob, Danna, and Bert. Jackson had so much fun "doing bad things" with Uncle Rex. While in Atmore, Jackson go to play in the pool at Nana's with Queenie.
Where Did it All Go?
Where in the world did the month of July go?!?! We have been so busy that time has flown by so fast my head is spinning. We spent the Fourth of July in Atmore. Jackson and I took a day trip over to Gulf Shores to see Uncle Rex and Aunt Glyn. We spent several days of the month in Atmore visiting. We also made a trip to Watersound Beach to spend several days with Uncle David, Aunt Kathleen and Sara. All the days in between we have spent at home running errands, doing chores, and swimming in the pool.
What is Jackson up to these days?
What is Jackson up to these days?
- He has learned what the words juice, Cheerios, Queenie, no, and go in the car mean. He gets so excited when we ask if he wants juice or Cheerios. He goes to the pantry door for Cheerios and kitchen for juice. When we say something about Queenie, he will start squealing and go to our bedroom (since that is where she hangs out about 99% of the time). He shares his Cheerios with her also.
- He is a world class traveler. We have probably traveled a little over 3,000 miles since the start of the summer. He does great in the car.
- One of his favorite places to play is in the kitchen - near the Tupperware and pots/pans. The more noise he can make the better.
- He is eating mostly table food now. I have to grind it up in the grinder because he still only has 4 teeth - 2 on top and 2 on bottom in the front. However, we can see some trying to come through.
- He moved up to a number 5 diaper and is still wearing 18 to 24 month clothes - mostly 24 months and some 2Ts.
- He isn't sleeping through the night anymore. He is getting up 3 and 4 times a night.
- He LOVES the water. He has enjoyed all trip to the pool, his backyard pool, and the ocean. He gets so excited. And bath time is so much fun!!

Other Things in June
We spent the morning of Father's Day working in the nursery at church. We were all very busy! Jackson seemed to enjoy himself.
Jackson loves the vacuum cleaner.

Great-Great Grandmother Grigsby's 101 Birthday Party
We celebrated Grandmother Grigsby's 101 birthday on June 12. Here are some pictures from the party. We cleaned up the old highchair that all of us grandchildren sat in when we were growing up. I was pretty excited about it and Jackson seemed to enjoy sitting in it as well.
Busy Summer So Far!
The summer has been quite busy so far. I haven't had much time to blog. MK and I took Jackson to Gulf Shores on June 12-17. We had a great time. I think that Jackson loved the condo more than anything else. Every time we came back into the condo, Jackson squealed and started running around the living room. He was so funny. He didn't really know what to think of the sand. We took him down to the beach twice and the pool several times. I think he enjoyed the pool the most - well, maybe second to the condo itself. Jackson's MeeMee came and stayed for a couple of days during her vacation. He enjoys a little ice cream, has learned to put things in the toilet, loves goofing off in Walmart, and loading the dishwasher.

Summer Time is Here!!!
Summer has begun! Jackson and I have spent the week together going to the pool, running errands, and hanging out around the house. This week Jackson has been practicing holding his bottle all by himself - which is a great milestone around our house. I am hoping a sippy cup is in the very near future. Also, Jackson is walking around these days showing off his new scratch he received yesterday at Aunt Susie's pool. He fell and bumped his head on one of the plastic chairs. He cried for a minute and then enjoyed some juice and Cheerios! We are headed to the beach next week!!!

Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day weekend we spent time at Smith Lake with my parents, Aunt Katie, Anna Claire, Kortney, Tyler and Gene. We rented a house on the Jasper side of the lake and the weather was fabulous. It was Jackson's first time going to the lake and doing anything near water (with the exception of taking a bath). He had a great time. He really enjoyed his little pool we took and put down on the dock for him. He especially loved riding in Papa's boat. He didn't particularly care for the lake water much because it was rather cool. I want him to enjoy the water and I hope he learns to swim early on. Here are several pictures from the weekend:
