On September 3, Jackson and I (along with many others) went with Mary Kay and her family to welcome David home from his year of service in Afghanistan. I kept saying that Jackson was going to meet his "Uncle David" for the first time. We wanted to dress as patriotic as possible so Jackson wore red and blue and I wore blue and white. Jackson did great while we wanted for the group to arrive and then through the welcome home ceremony and visiting afterwards. Jackson laughed for the first time while we were at the hanger that day. Before David arrived, Jackson and I got into the cockpit of a chinook helicopter like the ones that David flies. I have included some pictures below from the day. I know that this will be a day that I will tell Jackson about when he gets older.

4 Months Old!!
Over the Labor Day weekend, Jackson turned 4 months old!!! He is growing and growing and growing. On Friday, Jackson's Mimi and Pop came for the weekend. Late Friday night, Jackson's Uncle Tyler and Aunt Jamie came to spend the night on their way to Hartselle. We got to spending the weekend visiting with family. On Friday afternoon, Jackson went to welcome his "Uncle David" home from Afghanistan. I will put a post up about that when I get some pictures to share.
Now that Jackson is 4 months old: he has found his hands and sucks his thumb a little bit, he smiles at people he recognizes, he is giggling some, he tries to stand on his legs when you are hold him or when he is in his Baby Einstein around the world, he is eating cereal and fruit once a day, and he is my little "Nosey Nellie"!
We went for his 4 month check up yesterday. He is GROWING!!! He weighs 20 lbs and is 28 inches long - all putting him in the 98th percentile! Dr. B talked to us about him possibly becoming an NFL left tackle! We laughed!

Jackson's Bunny
We take a walk around the neighborhood in the evenings when the weather permits. Every time we are out walking, we get to see Jackson's bunny. That is what we are calling him. He hangs out near the woods behind one of the houses in our neighborhood. I hope that over time he will let us get a little closer to him than we have been able to recently.
Having His Diaper Changed
This what we do sometimes when we are getting ready to change his diaper. That is a baby wipe on his head. He is a hoot. I just love the picture.

Eating Carrots - August 20
I am a little behind on posting to the blog. Since work started back, I haven't had that much down time. Anyway, I am attempting to catch up.
I don't know how much he enjoyed eating carrots but this is where some of those carrots and cereal ended up on Friday, August 20. Since the carrots, we haven't had much success with eating anything other than formula from a bottle. I guess it was too soon for him. We will have to try again later.

Saturday Morning
Well, I took this pictures this morning. The outfit he is wearing is one of my favorites. This is what he was doing when I went to get him up this morning. He really enjoys the mornings.
Eating Cereal for the 1st Time
Well, we decide to give cereal a try this week. Jackson is eating between 36 and 40 oz of formula a day, which the doctor said at the point we would need to try introducing him to cereal. So, on Tuesday, Jackson's nana came to stay with him for the week. While she was here watching him, we decided to introduce him to cereal. He was so funny. He loved it. He is eating cereal twice a day. I can't wait to introduce him to fruit. If he thinks that cereal is good, he is going to love the fruit. Here are a few pictures:

Watching Baby Einstein
We have some Baby Einstein DVDs that were given to us and I wasn't too sure if Jackson was going to be interested in watching them at this early age. So, I gave it a try and he seems to enjoy watching them. We have introduced him to Baby Bach and Baby Mozart so far. This is what I found him doing this morning while I was trying to catch up on some housework:
